The build up to the Bandon RFC TAG Rugby competition to be held in Bandon RFC has begun. See poster attached. We are limiting the number of participating teams this year so take this opportunity to register an interest. Simply respond to this email.
Last year was a great success with over 25 teams taking part. The organising committee is delighted to welcome ODM Financial, Bandon as core sponsors for the 2008 competition. What does that mean? More water, food and crack.
- What is Tag Rugby?
Tag Rugby is the fastest growing field sport in Ireland and can be played by both men and women of all ages. Tag Rugby is a non-contact team game in which each player wears two velcro tags. The mode of play is similar to Rugby League with attacking players attempting to dodge, evade and pass a rugby ball while defenders attempt to prevent them scoring by "Tagging" the ball carrier. It caters of for all levels of skill and fitness. Its non contact nature and social aspect have made it accessible to all. This competition will give you and your colleagues a great opportunity to network and socialise in a fun way.
- Facilities – Bandon RFC
All matches are scheduled to take place in Bandon RFC. The competition runs from May to end of July. Our clubhouse facilities include changing and shower facilities. An on-site BBQ and bar facilities will be made available on competition nights.
- How it works?
The competition will cater for businesses; clubs, pubs and amateur players. Teams will be divided into business house, professional and amateur leagues. Each team plays each other over a 6/7 week period qualifying for the competition playoffs. Last year’s winners include the Purple Monkey Dishwashers and Brady’s Lane.

- Want to rent an Astro-Turf Pitch to Practice ?
If your club or business would like to do some pre-tournament training, we have an all Weather pitch (with flood lights) in Bandon RFC that is available to hire at 50 Euros/hr. Contact Tom Davis at (086)1250989.
